Moto Racer 3

Game profile: Moto Racer 3 for PC

EA's first Moto Racer game, released in 1997, was the first in a strong line up of motorbike-based racing games. Moto Racer 2 and Moto Racer World Tour followed in subsequent years, but the release of Moto Racer 3 for PC puts its predecessors to shame. This is the 'real motorbike racing simulator'.

Unlike previous instalments that were more akin to a simple statistical update, Moto Racer 3 has been revamped in almost every way.

The game utilises the latest in 3D technologies for the home computer and demonstrates some of the most realistic environments ever created on a PC game. 3D card permitting, gamers can view Moto Racer 3 in resolutions of up to 1600x1200 as they race around 15 up to date circuits including Stade de France and Suzuka.

Eight teams and a selection of 24 new bikes give Moto Racer 3 the variety it needs to entice even the most casual racing fan into a game or two.

But most importantly, Moto Racer 3 features improved gameplay physics. Bikes now move more fluidly, animation is stunning, and control is better than ever. Bikes will now respond accurately both in collisions and to a variety of weather conditions.

There are a total of seven modes of play, and several gaming styles, including Time Attack and Freestyle, but perhaps the most interesting is Traffic mode. Here your challenge is to race across city circuits weaving in and out of heavy traffic. This mode helps to add to the already intense playing experience.

With all the aforementioned features intact, along with a smart 8-player option over LAN, Moto Racer 3 really is the ultimate motorbike racing game.
